A question Posed…
I was hanging with friends last night when the question was posed: what was everyone hoping for out of the new year 2024. And I really didn’t have an answer. New Year’s resolutions have never been something I’ve spent a lot of time pondering; I don’t even remember what mine was for 2023.
2023
2023 was a year of big change. Leaving my first career path behind, moving across the country, and trying to determine what is truly important to keep or add to my life going forward and how to build a life that emphasizes what grounds me and builds up the people around me. It was the wildest ride I’ve ever been on and a blessing to meet so many cool people along the way, whether we became friends or we just had a passing interaction. Not that it was a happy joy ride – it was up there with the most challenging years I’ve had, and not just because my hairline started to recede.
Resolution
Back to 2024. My first resolution is to have a resolution.
My second resolution is to be unafraid of putting myself out there – being okay with making mistakes because that is where true growth happens. Say “yes” to things that make me uncomfortable and just go for it. The 20’s are coming to close for yours truly, and there is so much left to experience.
A little Site update…
The home page and information page have a new look to ring in the New Year! I think the layout is more user-friendly and hopefully this makes the site easier to navigate and explore. The newsletter is now up and ready to go – you can subscribe either at the bottom of this (or any post) or by using the form on the home and info pages. Wishing every reader a happy New Year – let’s all go make this the best year of our lives and live boldly and fearlessly.
For me New Years Resolutions are like choosing careers, making a commitment to someone you feel really fond of , helping someone in need that could improve their day, week, month, life, etc., Committing to life is my New Years Resolution. Setting and committing to my goals at work, at home, at life, to others, and to my GOD most of all is succeeding at accomplishing my New Years Resolution. ! If I am not giving my best everyday then I believe I have failed the individuals who Love me, others around me and depend on me as well as myself. I have made decisions in my life that were clearly wrong and lead me down the wrong path but I learned from each mistake which helped in future decisions. I believe that is what we should expect from life. Everyday should be learning experience. When you give up learning and get lazy life is over. Go for it everyday! Sam
