It’s been a slow month here at the Ridley Review. Have no fear though! Things will be back up and running shortly. Basically, I am in the midst of interviewing for full-time jobs as well as grinding through my CompTIA A+ certification; both of those have taken up much of my time over the past month. In addition, there is a strong possibility I will be moving to my 3rd state in 12 months soon. A lot going on right before the holidays. On that note, dear reader, I hope you are having a nice festive period. It is always tough, I find, to get in the proper mood for whichever holiday you celebrate with all the hustle and bustle going on around you. I hope that anyone reading this has been able to find some peace and happiness so far this December.
With regards to this site, we have some exciting changes in the works for a hard launch, hopefully this week. Some changes arriving:
A site newsletter that will provide updates and notifications when new content arrives!
A new email address to reach me at – erik@erikridley.com. The contact form will be updated to direct mail here and will allow me to get back to people faster.
A new site host, which should increase the loading speed
A new collaboration option – have something you’ve always wanted to write about? Post it here! Please note that while I can not afford to pay anyone at this time for contributions, I can give you as much exposure as this site gets!
Content in the works: some more person content and reflections, a look at TV shows Survivor and Only Murders in the Building, a dive into Star Wars, some game reviews (both video and board varieties), and an ongoing history project documenting almost 100 years of the Hardy Boys.
The site will be more secure than ever: the site will have a security layer installed and the forms will use ReCAPTCHA technology to ensure safety.
Relevant Amazon ads – I know ads can be frustrating; I will work on making them as non-intrusive as possible. However, keeping this site viable financially over the long run does cost some money, so, while I won’t make any requests, if you do buy a product off Amazon via this page, I will get a small residual that will go towards maintaining the site.
